Abstract

The implementation of differentiated learning in the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum brings numerous benefits to students. In addition to providing equal opportunities for every student to succeed in education, differentiated learning also helps create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Students feel recognized and supported in their educational journey, and they are more motivated to learn because of relevant and engaging learning experiences. Thus, differentiated learning not only helps students achieve better learning outcomes but also shapes them into more independent learners and fosters personal growth. Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning) is a new policy program implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. In the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum, teachers are expected to create a fun and engaging learning environment and engage students in the learning process so they can actively participate. The Merdeka Kurikulum prioritizes fun and playful learning experiences to help children acquire knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes. The goal is to make learning enjoyable for everyone involved. In implementing the Independent Curriculum, teachers are also expected to focus not only on academic learning but also on the development of students' social and emotional aspects. This is expected to foster students' enjoyment of learning and high motivation to acquire knowledge. Therefore, the concept of independent learning can be defined as a way of applying the curriculum to the learning process in a fun way. Furthermore, teachers' innovative thinking is also a key factor in success, fostering positive attitudes in students in responding to each lesson.
